What’s New: Enhanced Label Alignment Controls: New controls on the Print page allow for precise manipulation of horizontal and vertical offsets, enabling accurate label placement directly from the Print page. Notes: - Drivers have been updated to include this feature and the new versions will need to be installed. - In a later updates, users will be able to specify horizontal and vertical offset values in Print Station and Print Portal, and when submitting a print job using the REST API or SDK. Intelligent Forms MVP for On-Prem Subscription (Automation and above): BarTender now enables users to access the new Intelligent Forms Designer from the Librarian environment once their BarTender instance is linked using the Hybrid Cloud. The new forms enable you to build a simple form with basic functionality using predefined fields that can be manipulated at print time. A single form can be reused across multiple labels and printers. To access the new Forms Designer, you must first set up the BarTender Hybrid Cloud using the Admin Console. VDA Templates Updated and New Templates Created: A set of new and updated VDA (automotive) label templates, previously created to align BarTender’s template library with current market and regulatory requirements (and released in BarTender Cloud), is included in this release. License and Maintenance Renewals Dates Correctly Displayed: The banner notifications in BarTender Designer, Print Portal, Print Station, and Admin Console for license and maintenance renewals now display the correct date for the end of a subscription. Any grace period active after the end of the subscription displays in a separate banner. What’s New: Printer Groups in the Printer Dropdown: The Printer dropdown list on the Print screen is now organized into collapsible groups for easier navigation. Automatic Grace Period for Expiring Subscriptions: BarTender now automatically grants to all versions of BarTender from 2019 on a 15-day grace period after a subscription has expired, minimizing the chance of downtime due to a subscription lapse. Enhanced RFID Field Visibility: RFID templates and fields are clearly identified in the Template Assistant, improving usability during template design and validation. Updated Media Stock Catalog: Newly supported stock types from Zebra Technologies have been added to BarTender Cloud's catalog while outdated entries have been removed to maintain relevance and clarity. Seagull Logos v1.1 Font Expanded: The Seagull Logos v1.1 font now includes two new symbols: the EPC icon (the 7 key) and the RFID icon (the 8 key). End User Licence Agreement Updated: BarTender's End User License Agreement has moved to an online-only repository and must be agreed to before BarTender can be installed. Minor Fixes: This release includes a series of refinements that contribute to overall platform reliability and consistency: Opening the Database Setup dialog in Designer in any language except English no longer produces an error. The Edition Required field on the BarTender Edition Required dialog now displays correctly for Simple Serialization. When entering text in a Text object in the Designer, the text no longer wraps and inverts after 256 characters are entered. New Features: Print Portal OneDriver. Rather than installing many Seagull printer drivers on the Print Portal server to facilitate printing, you can now install Print Portal OneDriver on the Print Portal server. When you print from a web browser on a client machine, BarTender works in conjunction with Print Portal OneDriver on the Print Portal server to generate efficient print code. Print Portal OneDriver can only be installed on the Print Portal server, and while it replaces a host of printer drivers on that server, the client machines must still have the actual target printer drivers installed. Print Portal OneDriver replaces the target printer drivers on the Print Portal server only. For more information on supported drivers and fonts, see Working with Printer Drivers (https://help.seagullscientific.com/2022/en/#Working_With_Printer_Drivers.htm) and Supported Fonts and Supported Fonts (https://help.seagullscientific.com/2022/en/#Supported_Fonts.htm) in the BarTender help system. BarTender fonts now install in the BarTender folder and are only available through BarTender. Common Template Library: All BarTender products now share one common label template library. This library is accessible online. The cloud-based label template library introduces a new user interface, Template Manager, and offers more than 400 pre-built label templates, as well as any new label templates as they are published. When creating a new document in Designer, the Template Manager displays when you choose Select a Template from Library in the New Document Wizard.
