This major version includes an overhaul to the help system (user guide) and documentation and a new 'Tip of the day' control panel option. Pressing F1 on a control now accurately takes you to the correct place in the help for a faster reference. Local help is now opened in your default browser application. New help system using a local web server instead compiled help. Local help is now the default option. Context menu might not have opened when in collapsed mode. Regression from 2024.4.1. Web based files now render to a filepage icon in thumbnail mode for consistency with other document type files such as text. Improved the behaviour of restarting Explorer. Added new feature 'Tip of the day' that will show a random tutorial tip when opening the control panel. Improved show/hide on some controls when starting / stopping tutorial mode. Updated tutorial text for global context menu option to reflect recent changes. Updated control panel local/online help to better reflect current version. Updated credits / hints. Prevent control panel modifier keys when a dialog / drop list is open. Control panel logo animation stops after a few minutes to save energy. Updated some translations that didn't fit on controls in all languages. Removed unneeded timer from QuickView to help save energy. |

Added RichText file format (.rtf). The new RichText renderer is now used for the Text format to achieve a more consistent overall image and better performance. This may introduce some unexpected visual changes from prior releases. Global context menu option changed so there is no disable option. Instead use the 'requires shift key' option (changed by double clicking the button). Some improvements to the credits screen. Various other bug fixes and tweaks. |

Added requirements information icon ⚠ to file formats that may require specific installed system applications or WIC image plugins, as well as tooltip information that details the requirements. Added credits window ability to pause (with P) and scroll with mouse wheel or up/down arrows to read credits/info/license texts. Credits window now has pages and web hyperlinks to navigate information and external links. Credits window now has inertia scrolling when paused and using the mouse wheel / up / down arrow keys (hold [Ctrl] to accelerate). Updated the credits help key ([Ctrl], [Alt], [Shift]) graphics for better clarity. Updated credits license informations. Changes and additions to RAW metadata / EXIF handling. Improved performance of property system to help display File Explorer thumbnails faster when in details mode. |
